Steven and William Ladd are Brooklyn-based artist brothers whose collaborative practice spans sculpture, public art, social practice, and design. Working across scales, their studio practice ranges from intimate hand-built objects and artist books to immersive installations and architectural-scale commissions, united by meticulous making, material experimentation, storytelling, and the transformation of many individual elements into a larger whole. Their modular systems engage light, movement, landscape, and collective presence while supporting efficient fabrication, transport, installation, and long-term maintenance. Major commissions have been realized with museums, cultural institutions, civic partners, and communities throughout the United States. National Scrollathon (2019-2026) engaged 15,000 participants at 56 sites across all 50 states, Washington, DC, and five U.S. territories, culminating at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
